Paysen Wins Georgia Chamber Award

Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce President Julie Paysen won a Georgia Chamber Award.

Each year, the Georgia Association of Chamber of Commerce provides scholarships to help Chamber of Commerce Professionals broaden their knowledge of the profession and their careers.

At the GACCE Staff Development Conference held last week in Cartersville, Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce President Julie Paysen received the U.S. Chamber Institute Program Scholarship.

Paysen was proud to receive the award.

I was very grateful to be chosen for this scholarship,” said Paysen. “It’s a 4-year program that prepares you for management and issues we face in the chamber world. It is extremely beneficial, like drinking water from a fire hose. It is so packed with information applicable to take back to the work place. It is about $1300 a year for the program per class so the scholarship was hugely beneficial.”

Paysen was among 29 award winners at the conference and one of the two U.S. Chamber Institute Program scholarships.

The scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis based on the applicant’s perceived need of financial assistance, the applicant’s perceived dedication and commitment to the Chamber profession and the applicant’s history of participation in Georgia Association of Chamber of Commerce’s functions and programs.
