Parents Express Concern About Open SCHS Baseball Coach Post

December 18, 2013

With baseball season around the corner, concerns are being raised about the status of a baseball coach at StephensCountyHigh School.

Becky Hewitt is a parent concerned about the baseball team who spoke to the Stephens County Board of Education on the matter at Tuesday’s meeting.

Hewitt said it has been very difficult to have a different baseball coach every year.

She said the school board should not make a patchwork decision, but keep the long term in mind

“Be very careful in considering who you put in that position,” said Hewitt.  “Make sure they are there for the longevity of the program and for the kids.”

The Board of Education did not hire anyone into the school system that would serve as baseball coach during Tuesday’s meeting.
