A Seneca, South Carolina man for whom a public alert had been issued in both northeast Georgia and upstate South Carolina is in custody.

Authorities say 23-year-old Robert Andrew Ivester, wanted on forgery charges, and a second person, Cynthia Michelle Hammett, both surrendered late this morning at the office of Probation, Parole and Pardons in Walhalla.

According to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Department, Hammett was also wanted on forgery charges.

Deputies had quoted Ivester as saying the 23-year old had threatened to harm himself or others, possibly on the campus of a school.

The Oconee County, South Carolina Sheriff’s Office said it had relayed information about Ivester to law enforcement agencies in Georgia and the Carolinas and to colleges and universities in Pickens and Anderson counties in South Carolina and Toccoa.

According to authorities, there were no specific threats to a particular person or a particular college campus.
