No Widespread Damage After Tuesday Morning Storms

Officials said there was no major widespread damage after severe storms moved through Toccoa and Stephens County Tuesday morning.

Stephens County was under a tornado warning for a time Tuesday between 7:50 a.m. and 8:45 a.m., but the National Weather Service said it did not have any reports of confirmed tornado touchdowns.

County authorities reported that there were trees down this morning on a few county roads. Those included Buena Vista and Broad River Roads.

Both Hart EMC and Georgia Power had small areas without power during the morning hours of Tuesday.

Also, there were reports of minor isolated flooding in areas of the county Tuesday morning after the heavy rains that accompanied the storms.

Between 7 a.m. and noon Tuesday, downtown Toccoa received just over 1.5 inches of rain.
