No One Hurt in Weekend Fire in Toccoa

Toccoa Fire Chief Tommy Ayers said nobody was hurt in a weekend structure fire.

He said that crews from the Toccoa Fire Department responded to a house on the 500 block of South Broad Street at about 12:05 a.m. Sunday in reference to a structure fire.

Ayers said that the home that caught fire was vacant, but suffered heavy fire damage.

According to Chief Ayers, the fire is believed to have started in the back of the house.

However, he said the cause is undetermined at this time.

Ayers said that fire department crews were on the scene for about 3 1/2 hours Sunday morning.

No other structures were damaged as a result of the blaze.
