NGTC Students Receive Scholarships

NEGAAntiqueAutoSchPresTwo North Georgia Technical College Automotive students recently received scholarships from the Northeast Georgia Antique Auto Region & Truck Club.

Clayton Smith of Toccoa and Montrell Croff of Lawrenceville each received a $500 scholarship. The funds are to be used toward the purchase of tools and equipment to be used in their chosen future profession.

Smith recently graduated with honors from the Automotive Technology Program at NGTC and participated in SkillsUSA and placed 2nd at the state level competition.

He is currently employed with Hayes Chevrolet.

Meanwhile, Croff has already completed the Automotive Technology Program and is now enrolled in the Auto Collision Technology Program.

Instructors said the competition for these scholarships was tough, adding they chose these two students, one from Auto Tech and one from Auto Collision, because they stand out from the rest, noting their grades, commitment to the program, work ethics, skills, and attitude.

On hand to present the awards to the scholars were the Northeast Georgia Antique Auto Region Chapter president Grady Cowart.
