The school announced last week that Carol Carson of Clarkesville has taken over that position.
School officials said that Carson has worked at the college for 13 years and brings a wealth of experience with budget planning and reporting, asset inventories, purchasing, payroll, revenue projections, data entry processes, audit procedures, PeopleSoft governmental accounting, and more.
Prior to joining North Georgia Technical College, Carson worked for Standard Telephone for 21 years. She attended Truett-McConnell College and holds a B.S. in Accounting from Brenau University. She also received her Governmental Accounting Certification from the Carl Vinson Institute at the University of Georgia.
North Georgia Tech President Dr. Gail Thaxton said that Carson has an impressive knowledge of the Technical College System of Georgia’s systems and processes, adding that she also recognizes the value of working beside everyone at the school to ensure that it accomplishes its goals and provides the best level of service possible to its students.
Meanwhile, Carson said she is thrilled to have this opportunity, adding that she is proud to be a part of the good work North Georgia Technical College has done and will continue to do for the community.
