NGTC Names New Police Chief

North Georgia Technical College has a new Chief of Campus Police.

The school has announced that Stan Lovell has taken that position.

Lovell has served as Chief Investigator for the Habersham County District Attorney since 1998, preparing cases for trials by state prosecutors.

As he moves into the role of Police Chief in the college environment, Lovell says he is conscious about the importance of building relationships with students.

The school said Lovell is well known to students already as he has been employed at the North Georgia Tech on a part-time basis for a number of years providing police coverage on weekends.

He also serves on the Criminal Justice Technology Advisory Board.

During the next several months, Lovell said his plans are to work towards improving communications throughout the college campuses as well as with the community organizations.
