New Shelter Director in Place; Attends First Board Meeting

August 7, 2013

New Toccoa-Stephens County Humane Shelter Director Jeff Roberts is hitting the ground running.

Roberts started last Thursday and attended his first shelter board meeting Tuesdsay since starting on the job.

The new director says he is currently getting up to speed on everything, while reviewing and evaluating operational and personnel needs and making sure needed baseline operating procedures are in place.

Meanwhile, Shelter Board Member Ron Seib said he feels Roberts’ start is the chance for a new beginning for the shelter operation.

“I just think we have this one opportunity with your arrival to really get us back on track,” said Seib.

Board members again welcomed Roberts on board.

Meanwhile, the shelter board also officially ratified Roberts’ one-year contract during its meeting Tuesday after making a few wording changes following discussions with Roberts.
