The school recently welcomed three new members to its Board of Directors, installing them during the board’s August meeting held at the school’s Currahee Campus in Stephens County.

Representing Stephens County as a new member is Barry Roberts.

He is the Director of Operations at ASI Southeast in Toccoa.

Roberts has had a successful 20-year career in manufacturing in Northeast Georgia including stints at Coats & Clark, Meadowbrook Machine and Tool, Global Partitions, and now ASI Southeast.

Also, Roberts is heavily involved in community and civic organizations and economic development in Stephens County and the surrounding areas.

The other new members are Mitchel Barrett, representing White County, and Ron Barden, representing Rabun County.

All three were sworn in by Judge Chan Caudell, who is also a member of the North Georgia Technical College Board of Directors.

These three new members now take their place on the eight-member board of directors, which includes a representative from each of the eight counties North Georgia Technical College serves.

School President Mark Ivester welcomed the new board members and applauded their commitment to North Georgia Technical College.

Ivester said their expertise will benefit the college as it moves forward, adding that their relationships within the community will serve to make North Georgia Tech’s community ties even stronger.
