Toccoa Falls College inaugurates its new President.
Dr. Robert Myers was inaugurated as the seventh President of Toccoa Falls College in a formal ceremony Thursday night on campus at the Grace Chapel and Performing Arts Center.
Leaders of the Christian and Missionary Alliance, along with college officials, students, and alumni, and Board of Trustees members participated in the ceremony.
Former Toccoa Falls College Presidents Dr. Paul Alford and Dr. Wayne Gardner also took part in the inauguration.
Toccoa Mayor David Austin also spoke, welcoming Dr. Myers and wishing him well on behalf of the city of Toccoa and Stephens County.
Dr. Myers said he and his family are proud to help lead the college into the future.
“We look forward to serving this college,” he said, adding they will hold to the school’s motto, “where character is developed with intellect.”
A reception followed in the Lois DeLany Gymnatorium.
Myers took over as TFC President on July 1.
Prior to coming to TFC, Myers has served as the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at Oklahoma Wesleyan University.
His other job experiences also include numerous other academic positions, along with civic and private positions prior to entering higher education. That experience includes twelve years as a police officer in Maryland.
