Multiple events are planned for this weekend in Stephens County.
Saturday morning, the Toccoa-Stephens County YMCA will host its annual “Healthy Kids Day”.
YMCA CEO Robin Dake said “Healthy Kids Day” is a national YMCA initiative to promote healthy lifestyles for both children and families.
Dake said the YMCA has a lot planned for Saturday morning.
“We are going to have all kinds of fun, healthy activities here,” said Dake. “The Toccoa-Stephens County Humane Shelter will have some puppies and kittens for adoption. We will have critters from the Blue Ridge Outdoor Education Center. We will have all kinds of booths on healthy foods and healthy snacks. We are having a kids’ parade that will start somewhere in the area of 11 a.m. and we will have a small fun run this year. That is new where kids can walk or run a certain area in our parking lot.”
“Healthy Kids Day” will run from 10 a.m. to noon at the Toccoa-Stephens County YMCA on Big A Road.
Also taking place this weekend is the Martin Spring Festival.
That will take place in downtown Martin Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Martin Spring Festival will include numerous vendors, entertainment, a blood drive, numerous children’s activities, pet adoptions, and more.
