Franklin County Manager Billy Morse said Tuesday he has not made any decision about coming back to his old job as City Manager of Toccoa, but adds he is considering it.
Morse confirmed Tuesday afternoon that Toccoa City Commissioners had reached out to him.
“We are talking at this point in time,” said Morse. “They are very interested in me coming back to be city manager and I am very interested in hearing what they have to say.”
Morse went on to say that he has enjoyed and is enjoying serving as the Franklin County Manager.
“It is going very well,” said Morse. “I appreciate the opportunity FranklinCounty has given me. I feel like we have done a lot of good things in the last four years and I have a good group of commissioners I have enjoyed working with. The staff is wonderful. It (Toccoa) is just another opportunity that has been presented to me.”
Recently, Morse’s contract with Franklin County was renewed and extended for another two years.
However, Morse said there is a clause in that contract that would allow him to leave with a 30-day notice.
Meanwhile, Franklin County Commission Chair Thomas Bridges said he was aware of the talks between Morse and the City of Toccoa, but said no decision by Morse had been presented to him.
