MLK Events Start This Weekend in Toccoa

Events this month for the 25th anniversary celebration of the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in Stephens County start this weekend.

The first event is the annual art contest.

That will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Then on Saturday at 5 p.m., the annual talent and fashion show will take place at the Schaefer Center in downtown Toccoa.

The oratorical contest will take place on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Moving to next weekend, Senior Reflections will take place at 3 p.m. on January 16 at Hurricane Grove Baptist Church.

Then on January 17 at 5 p.m., the musical extravaganza will take place at Friendship Baptist Church.

On January 18, the interfaith service will take place at 12 p.m. at Trinity C.M.E. Church.

Following the service at 2 p.m., the annual march will leave Trinity C.M.E. Church and make its way to Toccoa City Hall.
