MLK Activities Today in Toccoa

Activities for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day conclude today in Toccoa.

At noon, Trinity C.M.E. Church will host the annual interfaith service honoring and remembering Dr. King.

Following that service, at about 2 p.m., the annual march from the church to Toccoa City Hall will take place.

Today’s activities wrap up a series of events over the last couple of weeks remembering Dr. King.

Those other activities include an essay contest, art contest, talent show, musical extravaganza, and “Senior Citizens Reflections” event.

Also, as a reminder, Stephens County government offices and Toccoa City Hall are closed today in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

In the city of Toccoa, routes for garbage and recyclables scheduled to be picked up today will be picked up on Tuesday, January 20th.

Commercial garbage will be picked up as usual, but yard waste and other items will not be picked up.
