A man is recovering from an injury to his leg after his gun went off in an area church during Sunday services.
According to Franklin County Sheriff Stevie Thomas, a man was carrying a firearm Sunday during services at Tates Creek Baptist Church.
Thomas said the gun went off accidentally and the man was shot in the leg as a result.
The man was taken to Stephens County Hospital and is recovering from the injury.
Thomas said that his office is still investigating the case.
