In Oconee County, South Carolina, an 86-year-old man faces murder charges.

Authorities state that Nicholas Bonelli of Smith Farm Road, near Westminster, has been charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of two women Friday.

Arrest warrants allege that Bonelli stabbed both 82-year-old Clarine Smith of Smith Farm Road in Westminster and Smith’s niece, 63-year-old Sandra Smith Myers of Seneca, South Carolina.

Oconee County, South Carolina Coroner Karl Addis says that autopsies show Smith died of a head injury due to blunt force trauma and that Myers died of a stab wound to her chest between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

According to authorities, they arrived at Smith Farm Road after a family member found the two women following unanswered phone calls.

A statement released by the Oconee County, South Carolina Sheriff’s Department said that Bonelli was incarcerated and no bond hearing has been scheduled as of yet.
