Man Charged in Habersham Co. Murder

Authorities said that a Habersham County man faces a murder charge in connection with the death of a Toccoa man.

Habersham County Sheriff Joey Terrell said that 49-year-old Carl Lewis Justice of Habersham County was arrested and charged by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation with murder in connection with the death of 43-year-old Michael Anthony Hunnicutt.

Hunnicutt, who lived at a Toccoa address in Habersham County, was found in the Batesville area of Habersham County last Wednesday.

According to authorities, Hunnicutt was shot and killed.

Terrell said that Justice has admitted to finding Hunnicutt’s body and hiding it, but has not admitted to shooting Hunnicutt.

According to Terrell, the investigation is ongoing and authorities are looking for a weapon that may have been involved in the case.

Justice remains in the Habersham County Jail at last report with no bond.
