March 7, 2014

A man faces a drug charge after allegedly taking drugs into Toccoa Municipal Court.

A report from the Toccoa Police Department stated that on February 27, a concerned citizen notified court officers that a subject was seen in possession of a glass pipe that was believed to be a drug pipe.

Police said the citizen pointed the individual out to authorities.

The individual is identified as Richard Allen Dean of Highway 184 North in Toccoa.  According to the police report, Dean is either 52 or 53 years old.

The officer said that when he asked Dean if he had a glass pipe on him, he immediately began to act nervous and ramble.

At that point, the officer said he patted Dean down and found a blue glass pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine in Dean’s pocket.

The officer went on to say that the pipe had a large amount of white residue inside.

Police said they have taken a warrant against Dean for Possession of Methamphetamine.
