Main Street Toccoa Releases New App

When it comes to downtown Toccoa, there’s now an app for that.

Main Street Toccoa has finished the design and implementation of a Main Street Toccoa app for mobile devices.

Toccoa Community Development Specialist Christian Hamilton said the app allows for easy access to all sorts of information about downtown.

“Whether it be businesses, new businesses or current businesses, events, retail locations, eateries, things such as that, but we really broke it down so we have various parts of the app,” said Hamilton. “You might see somewhere where it says on the app ‘dine.’ Click on that and you are going to see the various restaurants that pop up or eateries in the city. Click on that and it has their location based off of GPS, so you can click a button and it will take you right there. It says their phone number, their hours.”

Hamilton said the app will be updated regularly with the goal of making it a beneficial source of information for city residents and visitors as to what is happening in downtown Toccoa.

He went on to say that he feels the “deals” page and the “events” page are things that downtown businesses can really take advantage of.

“We are going to edit that with Main Street events, Ida Cox, summer movies, Train Day, anything we do with that, but we are really hoping this app will be used by downtown businesses and they can let us know if they have an event coming up, maybe an art show or a tasting event or anything of that sort,” said Hamilton. “Let us know what it is and we will be happy to put it on the app.”

The app is available for download now.

It is free and it is available in both the Apple Store and through Google Play.
