Main Street Toccoa Adds Morning Showing of Summer Movies

Main Street Toccoa is adding an extra showing of its summer movies each Thursday.

The city has announced that in addition to the nightly 7 p.m. showings each Thursday of movies at the Schaefer Center through the summer, there will now also be a 10 a.m. showing each Thursday.

According to Main Street Toccoa Events Coordinator Sharon Crosby, several groups have requested that Main Street show the movies in the morning as well as in the evening.

“To accommodate some of them, we thought this would be a good way to help the community,” said Crosby.

She went on to say that admission for both the 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. showings is $1 and all concessions are still $1.

Today marks the third week of this year’s Summer Movie Series at the Schaefer Center.

Crosby said that it is going very well so far this year.

“We have a lot of first timers that did not come last year and a lot who did come last year,” said Crosby. “We are getting all ages.

The movie for today and tonight is “Maleficent.”

Again, showings are at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the Schaefer Center, which is located at the corner of Broad and Doyle streets in downtown Toccoa.
