Long Time Insurance Agent Frank Worley Retiring

A long-time local insurance agent is calling it a career.

Frank Worley is retiring this week after more than four decades as a State Farm agent.

Worley has kept going what has been a family tradition that has lasted more than three-quarters of a century since his father started as a State Farm agent in 1939.

“During World War II, my mother became the agent here while my father was in the Navy,” said Worley. “After the war, my father became an agency manager for State Farm and was with the company for 34 years. My brother, Charlie, was an agent in Toccoa during the early 70s, after which he became an agency manager with State Farm in Athens. I have been here since 1973 as an agent, 43 and 1/2 years.”

Worley said he appreciates all of those who have had insurance through him and State Farm for all of these years, as well as all of those who have worked for him through the years.

“Mainly, I would like to thank this community for helping to support our family for over 77 years,” said Worley. “To all of my past and present customers, I want you to know that you have been valued and your trust has been appreciated very much. I have been blessed with many, many employees over the past 43 years that have contributed to our success. They have provided excellent service.”

He said that his existing policyholders will be transferred to another State Farm agent in Toccoa and will receive notice of that.

As for Worley, he said he will take some time to enjoy his retirement.
