Local Umpire Calls LLWS Title Game

Local Little League umpire Brian Henry works the Little League World Series championship game.

Henry, a volunteer umpire for the Toccoa Little League with 20 years of experience, is one of the members of the umpire crew that is working the tournament and on Sunday, he called the balls and strikes behind home plate for the championship game of the entire tournament between New York and South Korea.

New York won the game, 2-1.

Not only did Henry call the last pitch of the series, he also called the first one as he called home plate for the first game of the tournament between Mexico and Panama.

Henry, who is also the Georgia Little League Umpire consultant and works for the Southeastern Region Umpire Staff, qualified for this prestigious honor by working the Southeast Regional Tournament back in 2012.
