Local Industry Appreciation Event Held

May 2, 2014

The Stephens County Development Authority hosted an Industry Appreciation Network Event at the Willard Kimsey Environmental Education Center yesterday afternoon. Approximately twenty-five local industries were represented at the event. Stephens County Development Authority Executive Director Tim Martin says events like these are important.  “We believe it is important to recognize our existing industries. We also believe it is important for them to know each other. Sometimes it surprises me that they don’t already.”

Martin said the event was an appreciation event, but also a networking opportunity.

Though recruiting new business is always a goal, Martin says it is important to have those positive relationships with existing businesses “80 to 90 percent of our business comes from existing industry so we try to make sure who they are, what their challenges are, and what are those things that we can do to help them face their opportunities.”

This Tuesday, the Stephens County Development Authority will help host a commissioning ceremony for the Solar Array or Solar Panel at 1150 Turner Road in Eastanollee. The ceremony is at 4 P.M. and the public is invited to attend.
