The Toccoa 9 and 10-year-old softball All-Stars pulled off a dramatic, come-from-behind win in the district semi-finals over Franklin County Tuesday night 12-8 in Clayton.
Toccoa trailed 8-2 going into the bottom of the fifth inning when they erupted for 10 runs on nine hits.
Catcher Madison Rogers went 2 for 4 with 3 RBIs for Toccoa, while Sadie Hawkins came off the bench in the fifth and picked up two hits and two RBIs.
Pitcher Allie Huff threw a complete game for the win, striking out 12 batters while also going 2 for 3 at the plate with an RBI.
With the win, Toccoa moves on to the district 9 and 10-year-old softball championship game at 6 p.m. tonight in Clayton.
AM 630 WNEG and wnegradio.com will broadcast the game beginning at 5:45 p.m.
Following that game, WNEG will also carry the 11 and 12-year-old softball title game between Toccoa and Franklin County at 8:30 p.m., also in Clayton.
The Toccoa 11 and 12-year-old baseball team will also be in the district semi-finals tonight in Danielsville. They will face Franklin County at 6 p.m.
Finally, the Toccoa Senior League Baseball All-Stars were eliminated with two losses this week in the district tourney to Habersham. Toccoa lost the first game 16-1 on Saturday, then fell on Monday 23-1 to Habersham.
