Little League Update
It was a busy weekend on the Little League diamond for Toccoa baseball and softball All-Stars.
First on Friday night, Toccoa lost to Hart in the District 7 10-11 baseball championship game in Clarkesville, 13-10.
Hart scored nine runs in the top of the second inning to erase an early Toccoa lead on its way to the win and a berth in the state tournament in Columbus.
Meanwhile, Toccoa’s 9-10 softball and 11-12 Little League softball All-Stars played in their district tournaments at the Doyle Street Park in Toccoa over the weekend.
In 9-10 softball, Toccoa beat Madison in its first game Friday night, 9-6. Then on Saturday, Toccoa lost to Franklin, 13-3, to fall into the elimination bracket and on Sunday, Hart knocked Toccoa out of the tournament with a 14-4 win.
Moving to 11-12 softball, Toccoa lost to Franklin County Friday night, 25-6. Then, Toccoa was eliminated from the 11-12 softball tournament Sunday with a 22-1 loss to Madison County.
District 7 softball tournaments continue later this week at the Doyle Street Park in Toccoa.
More District Little League baseball tournaments involving Toccoa teams get started this coming weekend.
