Little League Update

The Toccoa Little League baseball All-Stars move into the championship round.

Thursday in Clarkesville, Toccoa pounded Habersham in four innings, 35-0, to advance from the elimination bracket into the finals.

Toccoa scored three runs in the first and five in the second.

Then, Toccoa sent 17 men to the plate in the third inning and scored 14 runs and sent another 19 men to the plate in the fourth inning and scored 13 more runs.

Chubba Roush had two home runs, including a grand slam, and six RBI’s for Toccoa, while Zack Feaster also had a grand slam in the same inning as Roush, and added five RBI’s.

Ian Rumsey, Josh Henshaw, and Dawson Roberts all also had home runs for Toccoa.

Also, Seth Jamieson scored six runs, Mason Roberts scored four runs, Kenny Colwell scored two runs and Connor King scored two runs as well.

Henshaw, Feaster, and Rumsey combined on the mound to keep Habersham from getting a runner to third base.

With the win, Toccoa moves to the championship for a rematch with Hart tonight at 7 p.m. in Clarkesville.

Toccoa must win twice to win the district title, while undefeated Hart must only win once.

Meanwhile, Toccoa came up short in the Junior League All-Star baseball district final against Franklin.

Franklin beat Toccoa 10-1 as Drake Bond and Eli Roach pitched a one-hitter for Franklin.

Toccoa’s only run came in the first when Ty Kellar reached on an error, stole third, and scored on a passed ball.

Ahmad “Scoot” Teasley had Toccoa’s only hit with a two-out double in the seventh inning.
