Little League Update

Toccoa drops two games in the opening day of the second day of Little League District 7 All-Star play in northeast Georgia.

The Little League and Junior League baseball tournaments opened Sunday in Habersham County.

First in Little League baseball, Hart beat Toccoa 8-3.

After Hart jumped to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, Toccoa tied the game in the bottom of the first on RBI singles from Josh Henshaw and Mason Roberts.

Cane Berrong gave Hart a 4-2 lead in the top of the second with a two-run home run and the game stayed there until Toccoa’s Jacob Grafton, running for Hunter Puntervold, who singled, scored from third to make it 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth.

However, Hart scored four runs in the top of the fifth to pull away.

Toccoa’s Little League baseball All-Stars will next play Tuesday against the loser of a game today between Habersham and Franklin.

Meanwhile, the Toccoa Junior League baseball All-Stars lost to Habersham 16-13.
