The run comes to an end for the Toccoa 11 and 12-year-old Little League Softball All-Stars.
Toccoa lost 3-0 to Virginia state champion, McLean, Virginia on Sunday in the semi-finals of the Southeast Regional Tournament in Warner Robins, Georgia.
The Toccoa All-Stars made the semi-finals after defeating the Florida state champion, Keystone Little League of Tampa, Florida 6-1 Saturday to finish first in their pool.
Toccoa finished 2-2 overall for the tournament.
They defeated Irmo, South Carolina in the first game, but lost Friday to the North Carolina state champion, Wilkes County American Little League, 8-4.
While the run ends for Toccoa, the Virginia team will advance to the championship game today against Tennessee state champion, Morristown, Tennessee.
Tennessee defeated Florida 6-3 in the other semi-final Sunday night.
The winner of that will head to the Little League Softball World Series next month.
Meanwhile, Toccoa’s Junior League Softball All-Stars will play today with a berth in the semi-finals on the line in their Southeast Regional Tournament in Fort Myers, Florida.
Toccoa lost 8-1 Sunday in their first game of the tournament to the Florida state champs from Tampa.
Toccoa plays North Carolina state champion Rutherfordton Little League today at 5:30 p.m.
The winner of that game will play in the semi-finals on Tuesday.
The Junior League Softball Southeast Regional Championship is on Wednesday.
