The Stephens County School System is putting the spotlight on its schools during Board of Education meetings.
At last week’s Board of Education meeting, the Board received a presentation from Liberty Elementary School on a number of things going on at the school.
Stephens County School Superintendent Sherrie Whiten said this is something the school system is going to continue at future Board meetings.
She said doing this at Board meetings allows the Board of education to get a closer look at each school and some of the unique things going on within that school.
“This year, we decided that it is just good for our Board of Education to have as much interaction with the school-level folks as possible and all of our schools are the same in a lot of ways, but each one is uniquely different and they have a lot of things to be proud of,” said Whiten. “It is just good to let the Board know some of the things they feel are important and what they feel like is making a difference for their students.”
Liberty Elementary staff told the board about a number of after-school clubs and activities that take place at the school.
