Lavonia Chamber Getting New Space

By MJ Kneiser, WLHR Radio, Lavonia

The Lavonia Chamber of Commerce will soon have a new space to call home.

Chamber officials in Lavonia said they are moving their offices from Grogan Street to a store front next to the Gazebo on Main Street.

Lavonia Chamber member Al Goldsmith was at the new office space, formerly a clothing store, Monday.

Goldsmith said this new space will offer the Chamber much more room.

He said it is over 900 square feet, compared to the old space that was 120 square feet.

A year ago, the Lavonia Chamber moved from a stand alone building at the corner of Main and Grogan Streets to a small office on Grogan near Doug Kidd’s law offices.

Goldsmith said another problem with the current office space is that people have had trouble finding the office.

The new space next to the Gazebo offers more exposure and is easier to find.

He said the new space will put the Lavonia Chamber in the the downtown area and when they have festivals, they can put their booth right out in front of their office.

Goldsmith and volunteers are working to paint and renovate the new space.

He said the Lavonia Chamber plans to move in by March 31st.
