On Thursday, the Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Kokoon Homes for its new facility off of Doyle Street in Toccoa.

Local officials toured the plant with company staff and learned more about the services that the company offers.

Kokoon Homes Owner Dave Rades said that his company offers a wide array of homes.

“Kokoon Homes is kits, houses, that you can build yourself,” said Rades. “Any two people can erect them if you can carry 150 pounds. They bolt together in big, eight-foot panels that are steel, soy foam, fireproof. We just mix and match the panels to make any size house you want. The roof is insulated to R-30 and the walls start at R-16.”

That includes Kokoon’s tiny homes, which Rades said are made with structural steel and meet all national building codes.
