Stephens County comes together to help raise money in the fight against breast cancer.

The 5th annual “Kickin’ It: One Step At A Time” event took place Saturday in downtown Toccoa.

This year’s event included both a walk/run and a motorcycle ride, as well as hot dog plates.

“Kickin’ It” President Connie Worley said that they are very pleased with the turnout.

“We had between 90 and 100 people out here this morning to do the walk and the run,” said Worley. “We are just very pleased with the turnout we had. We are so very grateful to our sponsors and to the community for what they have done over the last five years.”

Money raised through “Kickin’ It” goes to help provide mammograms for eligible Stephens County women with no insurance.

According to Worley, in the event’s first four years, “Kickin’ It” has raised over $70,000 to provide mammograms for more than 500 women.
