JV Football Finishes 5-2

November 7, 2013

StephensCountyHigh School wraps up another successful Junior Varsity football season.

The JV team ended its season last month with a 5-2 record.

Stephens County JV Coach Greg McCall said it was another strong year overall.

“This is third straight year we have been 5-2,” said McCall.  “The kids played hard all year long.  The players gave great effort and it paid off week in and week out.”

McCall says the JV team beat Franklin, Habersham, Madison, Cedar Shoals, and Clarke Central.

Losses came to Hart County and Gainesville.

McCall said the team had a very strong running game this year, scoring most of its points on the ground.

“We scored 28 touchdowns this year,” said McCall, adding the team averaged 27 points per game.

McCall appeared on last week’s edition of “Crunchtime.”

While the JV season is over, the varsity football regular season wraps up tomorrow for Stephens County, as the Indians host Lumpkin County.
