Job Fair for Offenders Wednesday

July 23, 2013

The Georgia Department of Labor is sponsoring a job fair for offenders to meet with employers Wednesday (July 24).

The state’s Department of Corrections, Toccoa Probation Office, and Toccoa and Habersham Career Centers of the Georgia Department of Labor are sponsoring the fair for offenders Wednesday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Ruby C. Fulbright Aquatic Center in Clarkesville.

According to the Labor Department, the job fair is designed for offenders and employers in Stephens, Habersham, and Rabun counties.

State Labor Department officials say the fair will provide an opportunity for employers and offenders to come together to form links necessary for offender success by enabling them to become productive citizens, support family, pay court-ordered obligations, pay taxes, and so forth.

For more information, call the Toccoa Career Center at 706-282-4514 or the Habersham Career Center at 706-776-0811.
