The Corps of Engineers will re-pave a Stephens County boat ramp over the coming weeks.

On Tuesday, the Corps’ Hartwell Lake Office announced that it will re-pave the Jenkins Ferry Boat Ramp.

The Corps said that the Jenkins Ferry boat ramp will remain open during the preliminary re-paving work, but will close temporarily during the treatment and paving process.

Based on its current schedule, the Corps said Jenkins Ferry will be unavailable for public use on November 21, as well as from December 3 through December 6.

These dates are tentative based on weather or any other unforeseen issues that may come up and affect that schedule.

The Corps said boaters displaced during the time that the Jenkins Ferry boat ramp is closed are encouraged to use nearby ramps to launch.
