Indians Traveling to Chestatee Tonight
The Stephens County Indian football team will look to make it two in a row in Region 8-AAAA when it heads on the road to Hall County tonight to face Chestatee.
Stephens County is 3-1 overall on the season and 1-0 in the region after defeating Walnut Grove last Friday 41-20.
Meanwhile, Chestatee enters tonight 2-1 overall and 1-0 in region play after beating Eastside last week by a score of 33-23.
Last year, Chestatee defeated the Indians in a close game at the Reservation, 24-20.
Indians’ Tight Ends Coach Marvin Justice said the War Eagles will pose quite a challenge for StephensCounty tonight.
“They are physical,” said Justice. “They are big. They are well-coached. They get where they are supposed to be and they have good team speed. This is going to be an old-fashioned game because I think we are physical too.”
Kick-off tonight from Chestatee High School is 7:30 p.m.
Coverage on AM 630 WNEG starts at 6 p.m. with “Tommy Palmer’s Countdown to Kickoff.” Coach’s Corner starts at 7 p.m. and pre-game coverage from Chestatee starts at 7:15 p.m.
Elsewhere around Region 8-AAAA tonight, Lanier visits Monroe Area in a battle of unbeaten teams, Eastside hosts Madison County, and Walnut Grove travels to Dahlonega to face Lumpkin County.
