Indians Travel to Lanier

The Stephens County Indian football team heads on the road this week for a big Region 8-AAAA contest.

Stephens County travels south to face LanierHigh   School tonight.

The Indians enter the game 4-3 overall and 2-2 in region play after defeating Madison County last week on Homecoming at the Reservation by a 35-13 score.

Meanwhile, the Lanier Longhorns are 5-2 overall this year and are also 2-2 in region play.

Last week, Lanier dropped a double-overtime heartbreaker at home against Chestatee 20-17.

These two teams have met just once before, with StephensCounty winning 27-18 last year at the Reservation.

Kick-off tonight from LanierHigh School is set for 7:30 p.m.

Coverage begins tonight at 6 p.m. on AM 630 WNEG with Tommy Palmer’s Countdown to Kick-off.  At 7 p.m., it is Coach’s Corner.  Then, pre-game coverage from the stadium begins at 7:15 p.m.

In other Region 8-AAAA action tonight, Eastside is at Walnut Grove, Madison County hosts Monroe Area, and Lumpkin County travels to Chestatee.

Elsewhere around the area this evening, Habersham Central visits Duluth, HartCounty hosts ElbertCounty, and FranklinCounty is home against MorganCounty.
