The Stephens County Indian football team has the week off this week.
The Indians are 3-2 overall on the season and 1-1 in Region 8-AAAA after last week’s 17-0 loss to Chestatee.
Speaking Thursday night on “Crunchtime,” Indian Running Backs Coach Ronnie Royston said they have had a good week of practice.
“It went well,” said Royston. “We got off the field early.”
According to Royston, the team had Monday off, practiced Tuesday through Thursday, and will have tonight off.
Stephens County returns to action next Friday, October 11, at home at the Reservation against Monroe Area on Band and Auxiliary Senior Night.
Most of Region 8-AAAA is off tonight.
The only team in action is Chestatee, who travels to take on Johnson of Gainesville in a non-region game. Johnson, a member of Region 8-AAAA, is playing a non-region schedule this year.
Elsewhere in the area, Habersham Central hosts Norcross, Franklin County travels to take on Jackson County, and Hart County is home against East Jackson.
Moving to middle school football action, Stephens County wins again, defeating Madison County Middle School on Thursday by a score of 32-0.
