The Stephens County Indian football team will look to get back on the winning track tonight on Homecoming at the Reservation.
Stephens County is hosting Madison County this evening in another Region 8-AAAA contest.
Both teams enter the game with identical 3-3 records for the season and are both 1-2 in region play.
Last week, Stephens County lost to Monroe Area 47-0 as the Indians were shut out for the second straight game on offense.
Meanwhile, Madison County is coming off of a 28-21 win over Lumpkin County last Friday night.
The Indians beat Madison County last year in Danielsville , 49-0.
However, Stephens County Wide Receivers Coach Andrew Stamey said the Indians will face a Madison County team that has improved from last season.
“We are just looking at a team that plays extremely hard,” said Stamey. “When you turn on the film, that is the first thing that jumps out at you is how hard they play. They are very well-coached. With the scheme they play, they play to the best of their ability and it is adapted to the athletes they have out there on the field.”
Kick-off tonight from the Reservation is set for 7:30 p.m.
Coverage on AM 630 WNEG begins at 5:30 p.m. from the Reservation with the Indian Tailgate Show. Coach’s Corner follows that at 7 p.m. and pre-game coverage from the stadium gets underway at 7:15 p.m.
In other action around Region 8-AAAA tonight, Chestatee visits Lanier, Monroe Area hosts Walnut Grove, and Lumpkin County travels to face Eastside.
Elsewhere around the area this evening, Hart County visits Jackson County, Habersham Central hosts North Gwinnett, and Franklin County plays host to Oconee County.
