Indians Fall To Wolves in Region Baseball

The Stephens County Indians will wrap up the regular season tonight and look to get a spot in the AAAA state baseball playoffs.

Wednesday, three Buford pitchers combined to no-hit the Indians as the Wolves won 11-3 on Senior Night at the Reservation.

After Buford scored a run in the top of the first inning, the Indians tied it at 1 in the bottom of the first when Konnor Quick reached on an error and came around to score.

It stayed tied until the top of the fourth inning when Buford batted around and scored seven runs.

Buford added two more runs in the sixth inning and one run in the seventh inning.

The Indians did plate two more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Davis McCall took the loss on the mound, pitching five innings for the Indians. Chaz Bridges finished the final two innings for Stephens County.

The loss drops the Indians to 14-9 overall and 9-6 in Region 8-AAAA.

Buford is now 23-2 overall and 15-0 in the region.

Stephens County remains alive for a playoff spot heading into tonight’s season finale.

The Indians travel to Buford tonight for the return game against the Wolves.

First pitch is set for 5:55 p.m.
