Indians Face War Eagles Tonight

The Stephens County Indian football team heads on the road, looking to stay unbeaten in Region 8-AAAA play.

Stephens County travels south to Hall County tonight to take on Chestatee.

Entering tonight, Stephens County is 5-1 overall and 3-0 in region play.

Last week, the Indians beat White County on Homecoming at the Reservation, 30-10.

Meanwhile, Chestatee comes into tonight with an overall record of 1-5 and a region record of 0-3.

The War Eagles lost last week at Madison County, 49-28.

Chestatee has beaten the Indians the last two times they have faced off, including a 17-0 win last year.

Stephens County Running Backs Coach Brannon Hulsey said games like last year show Stephens County that they cannot take Chestatee lightly.

“They had a great showing last year,” said Hulsey. “It is Homecoming (at Chestatee) and they have nothing to lose. Hopefully, we do not go out there complacent and just go out there and take it to them.”

Kick-off from Chestatee High School is set for 7:30 p.m.

Coverage tonight begins at 6 p.m. on AM 630 WNEG with Tommy Palmer’s Countdown to Kickoff. Coach’s Corner starts at 7 p.m. and pre-game coverage from Chestatee starts at 7:15 p.m.

In other Region 8-AAAA action tonight, Buford visits Monroe Area, North Oconee travels to White County, and North Hall hosts Madison County.

Elsewhere in the area, Franklin County hosts West Hall, Hart County hosts Jackson County, and Habersham Central hosts Centennial.
