Indians Face Titans in Big Football Game Tonight

Stephens County will look to clinch a home state football playoff game with a win tonight at the Reservation.

The Indians will host North Oconee tonight in Toccoa in a Region 8-AAAA game.

Last week, Stephens County clinched a playoff berth by beating Madison County in Danielsville, 31-10.

Stephens County enters tonight’s game 7-1 overall and 5-0 in the region.

Meanwhile, North Oconee enters tonight’s game 5-3 overall and 4-1 in the region after losing to Buford last week, 58-3.

Stephens County Junior Varsity Football Head Coach Greg McCall said North Oconee has built a strong program in recent years.

“They are traditionally a fine football program,” said McCall. “They have made the playoffs the last couple of years and moved up to our region this year. They have a fine running back and a solid offense. They are going to bring a lot of athletes to the Reservation so it will be a tremendously competitive game.”

If the Indians win, they will guarantee a top-two finish in the region and a first-round home game in the state playoffs.

Kick-off tonight is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Reservation.

Coverage begins at 5:30 p.m. on AM 630 WNEG with the Indian Tailgate Show. Coach’s Corner starts at 7 p.m. and pre-game coverage begins at 7:15 p.m.
