Indians Edged By Bulldogs in Baseball

A late run pushes Hart County past Stephens County in non-region baseball play.

Stephens County lost to the Hart County Bulldogs on the road Thursday night, 5-4.

Hart County scored the winning run on an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning by Jeremy Hicks off of Indian relief pitcher Dylan Simpson.

The Indians jumped out on top early, 2-0, on a two-run double by Zack Boyd in the top of the first inning.

Hart County came back and took the lead in the bottom of the third inning, 3-2, and added another run in the bottom of the fourth to make it 4-2.

However, the Indians came back to tie it at four in the top of the fifth inning thanks to RBI singles by Chaz Bridges and Dylan Simpson.

Zack Boyd got the start for the Indians on the mound, pitching five innings and giving up four runs and four hits, while striking out four.

The loss drops Stephens County to 2-3 overall on the season, while the win moves Hart County to 3-2.

Stephens County baseball is back in action on Saturday as the Indians host Banks County at the Reservation.
