Indians Blank War Eagles in Region 8-AAAA Baseball

The Stephens County Indian baseball team gets back above .500 in region play.

Tuesday, Tristen Powell tossed a five-hitter and the Indians got 13 hits as a team on the way to a 7-0 win over the Chestatee War Eagles at the Reservation.

Powell struck out three and walked just one in going the distance for the Indians.

Meanwhile, Zack Boyd had three hits, three RBIs, and a run scored on offense for the Indians.

The Indians also got two hits, two RBIs, and a run scored from Mason Long and an RBI double from Houston Mullinax.

Konnor Quick and Davis McCall also each scored two runs for the Indians, while Powell scored a run to help his own cause offensively.

Stephens County moves to 11-8 overall with the win and 6-5 in Region 8-AAAA.

Chestatee drops to 8-9 overall and 4-5 in region play with the loss.

The two teams will face off again tonight in the second game of their two-game series.

First pitch from Chestatee High School tonight is set for 5:55 p.m.
