Indians Beat Banks Co. in Baseball

Three freshman pitchers led the Stephens County Indians to an 8-4, non-region win over Banks County Monday at the Reservation in Toccoa.

Zack Boyd, Kole Rogers, and Chaz Bridges scattered six hits in giving the Indians their fourth win of the season.

Boyd pitched the first four innings and got the win.

Rogers pitched two innings and Bridges closed out the game, striking out two in the seventh inning.

Offensively, Kenneth Brock had two RBI’s in the victory for Stephens County.

Kooper Briley, Caleb Gastley, and Tristen Powell also each drove in runs for the Indians.

Dustin Ledford hit a three-run home run for Banks County in the fifth inning.

The Leopards also got three singles and an RBI from Cole Jones.

Stephens County is now 4-1 on the season, while Banks County drops to 2-2.

The two teams are scheduled to play again on Wednesday.

First pitch from Homer is set for 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
