Indian Wrestling Team Picks Up Come From Behind Win

A come-from-behind win gets the Indian wrestling team back to .500 on its dual meet season.

Tuesday, the Indians beat East Hall by a score of 37-31.

Stephens County trailed 25-18 after nine matches, but came storming back starting at 138 pounds with a win by Corey Kindel.

Then at 145 pounds, Dalton Roberts scored a major decision win.

The Indians took the lead at 152 pounds thanks to a pin by Jay Stowe.

Finally, freshman Ty Kellar sealed the win for the Indians with a pin at 160 pounds with 10 seconds left in his match.

Also gaining wins for the Indians in bouts Tuesday were Logan Pyle, Lee Massey, and Renny Zuniga.

Stephens County Head Wrestling Coach Rob Stowe says he is very pleased to see the progress that the Indians are making, being such a young team.

The Indians’ dual meet record is now 6-6.

This weekend, the Indian wrestlers travel to Buford for the Area Dual Tournament.
