Indian Wrestlers Continue Strong Start

Stephens County High School’s wrestling team continues its strong start to the season.

Earlier this week, the Indian wrestlers competed in a dual meet with Seneca and Westside High Schools out of South Carolina.

The Indians ran their season dual meet record to 5-1.

They defeated Westside, 39-28 and host Seneca, 36-33.

Indian Wrestling Coach Rob Stowe says they were able to beat two tough teams despite being without starters Devin Burns and Jake Murray, who were out sick for the meets.

Stowe says the wins speak to the team’s character.

The Indian wrestlers are back in action this Saturday, starting at 9 a.m., as Stephens County High School hosts the Arrowhead Classic.
