Indian Baseball Wins Third Straight To Start Season
Dawson Sorrells pitched six strong innings of shutout baseball and helped his cause at the plate leading the Stephens County Indians to a 7-1 win over Hart County in Hartwell on Tuesday night.
Sorrells allowed just two hits, struck out six and walked two to go to 2-0 on the mound this year.
The Indians opened the scoring in the 2nd inning when Dawson Dean scored on a passed ball.
They added two more in the third when Kole Rogers hit a tough two out ground ball that got through the Hart County third baseman scoring two runs.
The Indians added three more runs in the fifth when a Cole Beitzel ground ball scored Dawson Dean from third, and Sorrells hard hit ball to short that plated two more.
The Indians closed out their scoring in the 6th on a Zach Boyd double and Dean single.
Hart County’s lone run came in the 7th inning with a Dax Edwards single and Luke Lee double.
Bryson Fowler led the Indians with two hits including a double, Sorrells also added a double.
With the win, The Indians move to 3-0 on the season. Hart County falls to 0-4.
