Indian Baseball Wins Home Opener

Logan Bell smacked two home runs and Josh Slate pitched 5 1/3 innings of no-hit ball to lead the Stephens County Indians to a 3-1 win over Habersham Central in the Indians home opener.

Slate struck out six and walked five to earn the win.

Kain Hewitt pitched 1 2/3 innings of one hit ball in relief of Slate to get the save.

Offensively, Bell accounted for all 3 of the Indian RBI’s

Habersham Central’s Nick Foster pitched his second straight outstanding game against the Indians allowing only three hits and striking out seven.

Stephens County is now 2-0 on the young season and will host Franklin County on Friday night.
